Yesterday there were lots of family at the hospital. I know that means a lot to Sam III having you all present. He is still in ICU and visitation is limited. George and Sam continue to communicate using the Letter List. they r using text message words. Sam's breathing is still good, but not good enough to leave the ventilator. He spent some time yesterday sitting up in a chair. He is smiling and in very good spirits. Please continue to remember us in your prayers. Sam is being read the comments you are leaving. He really enjoys hearing from you. |

Sam, I'm so glad to hear that your in good spirits. The one thing I don't have to worry about is you not giving it everything you have got. Over the years I have set back and watch you pull the strings no matter where you were at or what you were doing. I know you are doing it right now. Just to let you know one exaple is that your are making me start to lose the fight that I have had with computers for years. Next thing you know you will have me cutting and cropping and paste somthing to a office joke to link it to all the people in my e-mail address book. Man I hope not. Keep on smiling and I want you to know I'm there for you brother. LOVE,Dustin

To let George,LAN,SAM,and everyone else know that anotherone of our friends had an accident last night. Some of you may know Steve Adkins aka ESSAY had a motorcycle accident that I just found out about. I do not know all the details but I do know that he is in the Macon Medical Center and he did fracture his back but he is in stable condition. I just wanted to let everyone know and to keep him in our prayers as well. We wish and hope for both of you a speedy recovery.

Hi Sam3 and family. My name is Grandin Eakle. I do not know if we know each other or not. I learned of your accident from Glen Giles. Whether we know each other or not we have some things in common. We have enjoyed open mike nights (maybe together). We like to "Pick and Grin". We both know Brent Lindley !!!!!!" We also have other common friends because we have both spent time in the ICU at The Medical Center in Columbus and the Shepherd Center ICU. Tell (Mickey, Fatima, Winnie, Helga, Larry, and the list goes on) that I say Hello. You are all learning more about the human body than you ever wanted to know. Praise God you are where you are. You are in a place where miracles occur. But not without some hard work along the way. I truly believe God will never give us more than we can handle and always gives us everything we need. SOme days are better than others. Just remember on the crummy days that "This too shall pass".
I found my way into those rooms via a not so successful landing in my airplane. On March 12th of this year my engine failed on take off and I crashed which broke my back at the T12 L1 level. I am stabilized from T8 to L3. Enough about me. I tell you these things so you will know I have some idea of what you all are feeling and going through right now. Dr MacDonald was my doc as well however my back surgery was done before I arrived there. Dr Mac said I was the easiest patient he ever had. I know you are on a roller coaster ride of emotions driven by fear and drugs. I want to share with you that it will get better. One day at a time. Live life in the moment. Sam3 let somebody else handle your business for the moment. Your job is to heal. I hope I have not overstepped any boundaries. I just want you to know you are not alone there and It is my belief you could not be in a better place. My injury is a complete L1 injury. I am in manual chair. I spent time in a power chair. I am at home now and have just started to drive myself. Anything is possible with enough imagination and technology.
I hope to get up to Atlanta before to long and stop by the Shepherd Center. If it is OK I will try to find you and/or you family members and say hello.
May Gods peace be with you all as you take it day by day.
Grandin Eakle
I forgot to tell you how you can reach me. I have a similar page to this. Go to www.carepages.com. You will have to sign in. It is totally free. After you get signed in my carepage is named Grandin. I am available if any of you want to talk or have questions about my experience.
God Bless,
Grandin
Sam,
Just now getting the time (and quiet) to leave you a message. Just got back to Macon from the weekend in Columbus. Glad to hear you're in good spirits - as much as possible that is.
I've been near you as much as possible since sitting on your couch watching your cameo in "2001 Maniacs" for the hundredth time, 10 days ago. Then there was the surfing/skateboarding movie! You always have been eager to teach us all something new. You've been a big brother to me in many ways for a long time. Oh, the things we ALL learned - the COOL things that is!!!
I'll keep it short, not usually a guy with a lot to say; but what I say, I mean sincerely. I Love You Brother. Hope to be seeing you soon. I won't say that I'll pray for you, at least I won't let you know (you would scoff at the notion), but I will continue to hope that everyday you continue to have a reason to smile. If you smile just once every day for one friend of yours, then there are many days ahead full of smiles. (sounds cheesy huh, but it's the truth)
It's 1 o'clock in the morning and I can't sleep - put on a movie for me, or play me something I've never heard!
Enough said, get better Samo.
Your Friend - SimBob
