Sam had tracheostomy surgery around noon today. He is doing well and resting. Sam's doctor says that Sam will enjoy this much better than the oral tube. He should be able to talk some or at least whisper. He will be feed with a tube to his stomach. Sorry, no Varsity Hot dogs for Sam, yet.
Apologies to those 6 comments that I lost yesterday. Please check and if yours is gone, replace it.
I'll be reading Sam the current comments tomorrow morning.
Keep us in your prayers.

Hey Sam,
Good to hear that you made the season premier of The Simpsons...I wasn't as lucky! I hope to catch it on a re-run! Just wanted to say that I am thinking of you daily and keeping you in my thoughts and prayers! Can't wait for a visit! Please let us know when you are up for it! Kyle and I are only minutes away!
Love ya brother...leigh*
Sam, I just wanted to drop you a few lines. I just erased a whole bunch of this and alot of that. Let's just cut the chase like you would with me and get to the point. A wise man once told me "What it all boils down to is THAT YOU BELIEVE." Thank you for all the times you inspired me, Dustin
Sam and family,
Just leaarned of your situation. I hope things turn soon for you. I too will be praying for you to continue to recover. Remember God will not put more on you than you can handle.
Shepard is a very good place. I have had two friends there and they did really well. Hang in there!

Sam-it appears that you are in the accelerated program at Shepard- always knew you were gifted-didn't even have to administer an IQ test.... oooh, but no telling what your projectives would reveal;). Really, you are making Quantum leaps, ma man- even though it don't feel like it on those bad days. You are so strong.. and young..and good looking..etc.All these attributes factor in to your recovery as well as to your level of care & the number of sponge baths you receive.
There are so many prayers going up to heaven with your name on them and such an outpouring of love and support from soooo many friends and family- it's pho no me nal.
Sambo-Did PerryAnn find you last night? Just read her e that she was headed upstairs to meet you. I forwaded her a pix message to share (I got to fly with Westbrook yesterday and did a right bank over Providence Canyon,,, or was it a left?)She's a rulebeaker sometimes(she's a Williams & can't help it) so she might slip a cell phone into ICU if it don't set off alarms and shut down important apparatus.
Hope today is brighter for you Sam!
Glen and the others in Columbus have been keeping me posted on Sam's condition. Even though I don't live in Georgia anymore, we're all praying for him here in Minnesota and your family as well.

Hi Sam,
It's been a long time, especially since Brent & I have moved to FL. Steve Miller just informed me of the situation & I'm glad to see things are much better than when I first learned. I'm so very proud of your determination, strenghth & progress. Keep it up! You've got a lot of people behind you & most of all that love you! I've been out the loop for a long time now & there is so much I want to say,but there will be time enough for all of that later. You are in my prayers & I will keep a close eye on your ever-growing progess. Love ya! Polly-wog Wiggins
