Monday October 23

Just talked to Sam III on the phone. His breathing has been doing well today. The music therapist came in this morning and worked with him to try and play a guitar using an oversized pick. He was a little more successful playing a few notes with his left hand on a keyboard. Still it was fun he says.

Trish Patterson worked with him at PT this morning. Lil, Sue, and Susie visited today.

He worked on feeding himself today. Lots of work Sam says.

Sam is looking forward to seeing photos of the benefit at the Loft on Wednesday.

Ya'll are still doing a great job at praying and commenting. Keep it up!

Hey Sam3. Grandin Eakle here. I am hoping to get to The Loft Wednesday night. It just depends on how much energy I have left that late at night. I still get tired fairly early in the day. How are you feeling about your concert practicing you did today? Hope you had fun with it and know it like so many other things will get easier with practice and time. I have had a struggle of a day today. This too shall pass.

Hope to get to Atlanta sometime in November. I still look forward to dropping in on you.

Remember one day at a time and let me know if you need to run anything who has been there.

I'll try and get some pictures Wednesday night and put them online for you, Sam.

It was good seeing you Sunday. I hope to make it back up that way soon.

Love,
Janis

Samo,

Really enjoyed seeing you this weekend. Glad to see a genuine smile from you, humble as it may be. That's a good thing Sam. It shows your appreciation for the people around you and the life you have yet to lead. I think you realize that. Just a new chapter, what will you write?

Sorry your Saturday sucked nuts, but Sunday made up for it. (And as Sam pointed out to me - I apologize for any language that may offend anyone else - this is for Sam) Good nurses, good doctors, good roommates, good friends, great family - your time of healing and learning couldn't get any more supportive. I know they're challenging you, and you have always taken challenges personally. That's the source of the admiration you get.

I sincerely feel better about your situation knowing first hand how you feel and the people surrounding you. Thanks Sam.

Can't wait for Wednesday night at the Loft. Looking forward to it a lot. Old friends, new friends, family, and great music - all for Samo. No better reason.

Look forward to beating you in Trivial Pursuit - again!
Bob

Howdy, howdy sweetie,
Once again your tenacity has become your best tool!I pray for you in the challenges that you face daily. You've already come so very far in such a short time. You are truly blessed, not to mention amazing...but wait, you already knew that didn't you!?!It sounds like you're still enjoying the many visits from family & friends & you should...we would be nowhere without them! It's also exciting to hear that you're jumping back into musical endeavors. You've probably done a ton of composing in your head & can't wait to pen it.One thing at a time.
Remember I love & pray for you. Until next time...take care Sam!

Sam, I was thinking about entering in your music collection in the auction tomorrow, tell me if you think this is a good idea. I might bid on your Skydog CDs to complete my collection. That way we won't have to spend all those tedious hours burning them ourselves later, and this will get all that cumbersome music off your hands!
