Monday October 9

Sam III drove the powered chair by himself today. Slowly but surely. He went to occupational therapy this morning for an hour and went to an hour of physical therapy this afternoon.

He is tired tonight from therapy. Most of the therapy focused on his shoulders.

Sam was really happy being able to be on the gym floor.

He is still have some breathing problems. During his physical therapy, he needed to have his lungs suctioned which cut into his therapy time.

All in all, he had a good day.

The halls will not be safe from here on out. So tell the truth had you ever heard of a Hoyer lift before? Also, have you met Geri yet? Oh and one more thing when you get to the garden... It helped me alot to imagine Peachtree street was a roaring whitewater river full of big kayakers. Honestly, it is great to hear you are gaining mobility. One day at a time my friend is the only way to do it.

With prayers by more than you know,
Grandin

What? Nobody bothered to warn these good people at Shepherd about your driving ineptitude??
Good luck!

Missed you doing the chickenhead dance with us this weekend. Had a really good time. (that's what comer told me anyways!) Good friends ARE hard to come by. Looking forward to getting you back. Could use the free rides - you owe me. Yeah, you do. You just do.

Keep it up Samo,
Bob

A good way to threaten someone is to light a stick of dynamite. Then you call the guy and hold the burning fuse to the phone."hear that?" you say. "That's dynamite baby." DEEP THOUGHTS by Jack handy.

It's good to hear from you! Physical therapy will be tough, but well worth it. Just look how far you've come already...WOW! Remember Rome wasn't built in a day! I don't have to give you hell about your wheels, it looks like everyone else has taken care of that one for me. I'm sure it's great to be mobile again.

I saw Miller this weekend & we talked about your tremendous progress along with some past stories. It's good to see old friends from time to time. Also, it was my 1st trip back to Americus in 2yrs. I try my best to stay away from that black hole. It tends to suck people back in.

I honestly can't say when I'll see you again (sometimes I hate being honest & I'm sorry). Besides work, we are running a deep sea fishing & diving charter business that takes up a lot of weekend time. It has progressed a lot faster than we originally thought, but that's good when $'s involved. Yep, we're certified scuba diving geeks & it is the most exciting thing I've done to date. FL's a good place for some R&R rehab if you get a wild hair. Brent & Kathy both send their hellos & best wishes on your journey. Please know that we love you & are still praying for you. It's great to be reconnected again. Stay strong Sam!!!
Love Polly
