Hey guys it's George. Just wanted to mention a few things that dad left off about Sam's progress. Not only does Sam have sensation on his left side to his toes, he also has sensation on his right side to around his waist. Also he is able to move both wrist (quite well) which is controlled by your C6 vertebra. His original diagnosis by Dr. McDonald, after his first surgery to repair his C5 vertebra, was that he was a C5 complete. This essentially means that Sam would have a very slim chance of regaining much movement or sensation below his C5 vertebra. Obviously, he was wrong. I sort of feel like doctors can be like weathermen. After seeing Sam's movement in his wrist and confirmed the sensations that Sam is feeling, Dr. McDonald told me Saturday that due to the sedation after surgery it can be difficult to determine the exact damage to the spinal cord. In other words, Sam is not a C5 complete. With Sam's strong will and stubbornness, I would not be surprised to see him regain a lot more movement (especially when he is able to start the "boot camp" of rehabilitation that he will undergo soon). I believe that a large part of Sam's progress is due to all of your support through the benefit shows, posts, and the love and prayers that are for him. Please keep it up. I love you all.
George

Glad to hear good news as always Samo. With this kind of progress, you should be ready for Halloween costuming in no time. No reservoir dogs this year buddy - how about just Sam? I'll give you treats for that! Wherever you want to go; on Bob.

Keep it up, prove em' wrong. You're up for that, right? Don't make me talk you into it. I will.

GOOD NEWS TO HEAR BROTHER! I'll send some pictures of Macon boobs if you do even better today!!!! (bribes usually help motivate you)

Sam, I am so glad to hear such great news! I have to admit, I'm sort of addicted to this site now - I check it everyday to see what's going on with you and to my delight, the news just keeps getting better. Panic on 9/30 was an awesome show - they played Doors 'Riders on the Storm' which was unbelievable, and I did some dancin' for you.
Looking forward to more good news from you...

Much love, Ame

Sam3

Good news...... The Doctors are brilliant there. They do their best to make diagnosis' but in the long run it seems like they always want to cover their tails. They tell you the worst case then when something better happens,,,, they can shrug their shoulders. Remember Sam3 miracles happen. God grants them everyday. That doesn't mean you don't have to work and push through. Good luck and keep pushing. Finish the drill. You can do it.

Thanks for letting me add my two cents worth. I know some of what you are experincing. I know the smell and sights and sounds there. Remember you are never alone.

MIRACLES CAN OCCUR BIG AND SMALL.

God bless you and your family,
Grandin

I hear you WAY OUT WILLIE!Keep it up my brother.I'm glad to hear about the progress you have made.Like I said your going to exceed expectations.I talked to MILLER TIME and he said you made his night the other night when you sent him that text.He said that he was just chillin at the house that night but it really made the night a whole lot better knowing you are still rocking their socks off.Speaking of, I got ya BoB,and I'll raise you a meow.Sure you won't mind Sam.I also got the update on Adkins today. He is instable condition and in good spirits but has to go to surgery soon.He did fracture a vertebre. They are going to go in and either fuse two together or do another procedure and when they do a sort of glue and fill the fracture. I did not get all the details but he did say the pain meds are giving him a headache.I wanted to give an update. Throw ESSAY a prayer or two and we will get you both through this.I know you probably have everything you can possible be allowed at the moment bit if you need anything or THE FAMILY needs anyhting please let me know.If you need to get in touch you got my phone and email is herohater187@yahoo.Don't ask why.(Wade set it up).Glad to hear the news and keep it up.
